Preparing for the Forest Service Vessel Rendezvous in Victoria

A sunny Saturday morning and Jeff is cramming all of the myriad of boat projects into the last weekend before we leave for Victoria.

The 100th anniversary of the British Columbia Forest Service is taking place next weekend in Victoria. They are assembling the fleet of remaining vessels in the inner harbour. Kwaietek, (formally the BC Forester) was once their Headquarter's Launch, replaced in the 1930s with Syrene; owned by our friend Robert Boyd.

Both vessels are going to be in attendance along with ten other forestry service boats. We have been busy beautifying the old girl so she can hold her own with all of these historic vessels. She is looking really nice.

Stay tuned for photographs of the entire event--all of the other vessels and Kwaietek's spiffy new looks!

Meanwhile, here are some interesting photographs of her former self... while in service.
